Mindful Movement and Yoga
Online at Dogwood Studio
Learn a practice that safely and positively stresses your body's fascial plains. This mindful practice promotes great insights as to how we hold tension, move (or do not move) our bodies, and how we relate to the sensations in the body.
This class includes mind-body activities to increase awareness of habits that impact our health, and provides techniques that can be applied in daily life to create opportunities to re-pattern our movements and support improved health.
MONDAYS · 10:00 AM ET $20
Gentle Hatha and Meditation
In Person and Online at Yoga Garden PBO
A Hatha style class moves more slowly than a flow class, allowing for time for more detailed instruction and subtle exploration of the mind-body connection in each pose. This class helps increase mobility, build strength and flexibility, and encourages a relaxing experience. Breathwork is woven into the practice as a way to calm the nervous system and deepen presence. We aim to hold an accepting and collaborative space to make sure that the poses are safe and comfortable for everybody and every body. This is a good choice for beginners as well as more experienced practitioners who prefer a slow and subtle yoga experience. It is accessible for most bodies with modifications and options offered.
SUNDAYS · 8:00 AM ET hybrid $20
Yin Yoga
In Person and Online at Yoga Garden PBO
Yin Yoga is a deep, inward-focused experience. Through long-held floor postures, Yin Yoga targets and nurtures the connective tissues—fascia, tendons, and ligaments—promoting flexibility and fluidity. This practice not only enhances physical range of motion but also cultivates mindfulness, fostering a healthy flow of life force throughout the body.
Rooted in Taoist principles, Yin Yoga offers a beautiful counterbalance to more dynamic, movement-focused Western yoga styles. It invites practitioners to explore a meditative journey that unfolds on physical, emotional, and mental levels, creating space for stillness and balance. Ideal for athletes and those drawn to Yang-style activities, Yin Yoga provides a complementary path to overall well-being.
TUESDAYS· 7:15 PM ET hybrid $20
Plus much more… public classes offered at Dogwood Studio and Yoga Garden.
Kids & Teen Yoga
In Person at Chatham Community Library
In this class, we will learn yoga poses, breathe, and relax. Yoga practices aim to cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and help them understand how to identify and manage their feelings. Stories, music, and games will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class. Each class ends with a period of relaxation.
Ages 2-5 · 3rd THURSDAY 11am · FREE
Teens · 2nd TUESDAY 4:30pm · FREE
